Back in January, I broke down a few of my corny kegs and noticed a good deal of build-up inside of the dip tube. I'm afraid that might be why my lines pour a bit foamy despite the fact that the system seems to be fairly well-balanced. My process for cleaning my kegs is, generally, always the same: once I've run empty on beer, I'll depressurize the keg, take off the lid, rinse it out, fill it about halfway with water and add a half scoop of OxiClean before soaking it. Afterwards, I put the lid back on before turning the keg upside down and allowing it to soak again. Add another thorough rinse-out before I dump about a gallon of Star San into the keg. Finally, I'll pressurize it and let the keg sit until filling it up again one last time. If the o-rings aren't damaged, I keep them on, and I never do anything with the posts. My question is this: how often should I be completely breaking-down my corny kegs?

We recently purchased a Premier 2-head manual keg washer for our brewery, which has a water flow rate of around 7 GPM (gallons per minute). I'm planning on using a diluted solution with a 5% PAA sanitizer to set-up a venturi-based system for the washer and would ideally like to avoid employing a reduction nipple. Since I've never assembled one of these dosing systems before, how do these venutri-style dosers work exactly? What's the best way to go about setting one up for a 2-Head Premier manual washer?

I'm about to purchase a new Premier Stainless Systems 2-station keg washer and would like to know how the washer can be drained? Does it need to have a permanent connection or can I drain the washer into the floor drain and wheel it out of the way when not in use?

For manually cleaning kegs, what's the best method to use without wasting too much time and CO2? I'm currently purging with CO2 for a certain period before filling during my manual clean(s). I think I might be purging too much and/or for too long tho - any thoughts?

After running a bunch of my "clean" kegs through our semi-auto Premier keg washer, I opened one up only to discover a bunch of build-up on the upper-part of the spear. Opened a few more and discovered the same thing in all of them. What's creating this gunk and how do I get rid of it?!

For those of you using stainless-steel keg washers, what are some of the reasons you decided to purchase the semi-automatic version over the manual one? I'm currently trying to justify the extra cost of the semi-auto washer, and could definitely use some help....
