John McKee is the co-owner/founder and Chief Technology Officer of Headframe Spirits Inc. (HFS) and Headframe Spirits Manufacturing Inc. (HSM.) John and his wife, Courtney, opened both businesses in 2012, and were named Entrepreneurs and Ambassadors of the Year by Governor Steve Bullock in 2014 and 2015, as well as Small Business Champions of the Year in 2016 by the Small Business Administration. Over the last 4 years John and Courtney opened a distillery in beautiful Butte, Montana, centered around its custom Continuous Flow Distillation System, which Headframe Spirits Manufacturing now fabricates for micro-distilleries clients nationwide. HFS produces micro-distilled spirits from Butte, including the award-winning Neversweat Whiskey, High Ore Vodka, Anselmo Gin, and their flagship product, Orphan Girl Bourbon Cream Liqueur. Headframe Spirits is the only company in the world which produces continuous flow distillation equipment for the micro-distilling industry. The company is equal parts history and technology, which derives from the rich history and ingenuity that the beautiful hometown of Butte has to offer. John is passionately engaged in developing safety standards and regulatory initiatives that will elevate the industry for craft distillers by actively participating in the American Craft Spirits Association, American Distilling Institute, and as a contributor to Artisan Spirits magazine. John is the President of the Montana Distiller’s Guild, and has been featured in Forbes, Huffington Post, Entrepreneur and Popular Mechanics Magazine.
