Can I start selling halal food in addition to non-halal food, or do I have to commit to halal food?

I run a food truck in NYC.

As far as New York State regulations go, you do not have to commit to halal food, but you'll have to setup a very visible sign with minimum four-inch block lettering that says: 'Halal and non-Halal food sold here.' You must also register your company with the Department of Agriculture and Markets in New York, and file identifying info for the halal certifying organization that certifies certain items as halal. The halal certification form must also be clearly visible and displayed to your customers.
