Do most batch/vat pasteurizers also have the capability to also be a mixer? Also, are most pasteurizers powered electrically? And finally, do most pasteurizers also include their own water cool-down system?

Absolutely they do. You can pasteurize or simply mix in them. Most pasteurizers use a single phase or 3 phase motor. We ask all our customers which electrical set up they have so their motor lines up. Most small pasteurizers do include a cool-down system (40 gallons and below), but once you typically reach 50 gallons and above, an external cooling and heating system is required. Larger batches in the long run will save you $$ if you have external heating and cooling.

We have different types of agitator / mixers for our vat pasteurizers.
The standard mixer has 2 large curved blades that are adjustable in speed by
a frequency converter. We also have special stirrers for yogurt and cheeses if a
combination pasteurizer / cheese vat or combination pasteurizer / yogurt vat is used. We have built-in electrical heating elements for pasteurizers up to 100-150 gallon. Up to 80 gallon vats with electrical built-in heating elements can run on single phase, larger vats need a triple phase connection. We also deliver as well Ice-accumulators as chillers for the cooling of the product. The water is recirculated over the jacket of the pasteurizer.

Yes, our Vat has an agitator that keeps the mixture moving during the pasteurization process. It can also function as a mixer for basic liquid mixes. Our vat is powered electrically using 220 single phase, 40 amp service. Our Vat is a double jacketed system and the product is cooled down after pasteurization by flushing cold water through the outer jacket. We do also offer a chiller/holding tank that runs on standard 110 service in 15,30, 45,60 and 80 gallon models that will quickly chill product to 39 degrees F and hold it there until ready for use.
