Some people prefer to deep clean their fryers only a few times a year, while others prefer to deep clean once a month. Whichever you choose, the process is actually fairly simple, if a bit tedious. First, you'll want to put some water into the frying vat along with some cleaning solution (reference your owner's manual or speak with your supplier/manufacturer for compatible chemical solutions). Then you'll want to boil the water off (turn the fryer on and heat the water), which will loosen a lot of particulate matter from your fryer. Afterwards, turn the fryer off (safety first!) and empty the fryer. You can then go ahead and wash/rinse off the fryer vat.
