Traditional woks don't fit easily on Western style stove tops, unfortunately, but there are many options available if you'd like to still operate a wok. First, you can purchase a flat bottomed wok, but the problem with a flat bottomed wok is that it can be difficult to stir fry using one, as opposed to using a traditional curved wok. Alternatively, you can purchase a traditional wok but purchase a wok ring to hold the wok at a level above the burner so that the shape fits. Do keep in mind, however, if you use an electric stove, then your heating element should be intense enough to heat a rounded bottom traditional wok - if it is not, then you may have to settle on a flat-bottomed wok (which can be heated more easily as it is in more direct contact with the heating element).
