We've been using CO2 to transfer our beer (through a 20" long hose) from the fermenter into the bright at our 2bbl brewhouse. This seems to take a bit longer than necessary and uses up a considerable amount of CO2 in the process. What's the way to move beer between vessels?

Pumping might agitate the beer and pick-up DO when transferring to an empty, air-filled bright. You'll need to vent the fermenter, otherwise you may risk implosion. Use a pump when carbonating inline, but be sure to pressurize the bright with CO2 before you start the transfer.
