Generally, most cost estimates have starting a successful small (micro) distillery at a minimum of $100k-$150k. It can take up to 1.5 years (or even longer) to get started, for two reasons: setup/installation/processing, and also because of licensing and compliance issues. To get all the local, state, and federal permits and licenses to sell liquor (and ensure compliance with applicable zoning laws) can take quite a bit of time and energy, so keep this in mind before you set off on your journey.
