Pellet hops are a great a choice, especially for a brewer just getting started.  Pellet hops have a utilization advantage over whole hops, take up less storage space than whole hops, are easier to measure, and are protected from oxidation by the coating.  They are also easier to handle than whole hops.  Pellets also have less surface area to oxidize, which means that they stay fresh for longer.
