I’m interested in baking commercially. What do I need to do if I want to move out of my home kitchen?

You'll have to make choices based off two primary considerations: local regulations and your budget. Though you may be able to work out of your home kitchen at first, some states do not allow home kitchen food businesses, so you'll want to check your local regulations. If you do start with your home kitchen, you'll have to get it certified for food service, however. If you need more space, look for a commercial kitchen space, but be aware that you can save money and minimize the risk of starting your baked goods business by renting a kitchen space by the hour.

Don't forget, make sure to obtain all the necessary licenses (food handling, business licensing, insurance, etc.) and permits before selling your products to the public.
