Is it true that most wine production equipment, including the presses, crusher destemmers, etc., can be used easily in the production of olive oil?

It is true that 'some' wine production equipment, such as presses and crushers, can be creatively used to aid in the production of olive oil.  As there is specialized olive oil production equipment available on the market, it is unlikely that the interchangeable use of wine production equipment will produce similarly high-quality results, or as easily.

Olive oil production is a relatively simple process.  The olives are thoroughly washed and then crushed into a paste.  Here, a wine crusher may be used.  This paste is mixed and then pressed to separate the oil from the rest of the contents.  Here, a wine press may be used.  The olive oil is then filtered.

Again, it is not necessarily encouraged to use wine production equipment interchangeably, but it is certainly possible.
