For moving tiny chips of metal scrap, would you recommend using an hinged steel belt conveyor system?

A hinged steel belt conveyor system is a fine choice for moving tiny chips of metal scrap, but you should look for Pitch 2 1/2" models, as they are designed for smaller parts. Avoid Pitch 4" and Pitch 6" models.

If you are concerned about the chips of metal scrap jamming up the conveyor (and you should speak with your supplier about this), then you may be better served by a Drag Flight Chain Conveyor. With a Pitch 2 1/2", a Drag Flight Chain Conveyor will handle tiny chips of metal scrap quite well, and will avoid jamming up in situations that a Hinged Steel Belt Conveyor would.
