Hardwood floor maintenance demands a proper schedule of cleaning. On a daily basis, it's recommended that you use a microfiber mop or pad to clean the dust off the floor. Using a broom and dustpan is okay too, but may not be as effective. On a weekly basis, you should use a wet mop to clean (don't use excessive liquid, however - just lightly add hardwood floor cleaner and/or water). Of course, if the hardwood area is large, then a floor scrubber can be used in lieu of a mop. You should be especially cautious not to damage the hardwood with the wheels. On a monthly basis, it's recommended that you polish the surface, and finally, on a yearly basis, you should invest in a deep clean of the surface to repair any damage that's accumulated over time.

As a general rule, you'll want to avoid using water and vinegar solutions to clean the floor, as they can dull the finish over time, and you'll also want to avoid soap-based cleaners and wax cleaners. Soap and wax solutions leave residue on the floor. Steam cleaners should be avoided as well, as they can damage the floor with excessive heat and water.
