Stemless is a great way to go and is a hot trend right now. They do come in a variety of sizes, shapes and quality. You benefit from less breakage during shipping (although if packed correctly, there really shouldn't be breakage with stemware) and also less in house breakage. They can be just as elegant as stemware and are a great alternative depending on the atmosphere you are going for.

Stemless wine glasses are a definite contemporary trend, so depending on the style of your restaurant, you may want to go stemless as a means of maintaining your brand (especially if your restaurant is 'hip' or 'trendy'). Stemless glasses also tend to be less fragile, as they are less likely to break due to the lack of a stem, which can make them better for a busy and casual bar service. Unfortunately, stemless glasses do warm the wine a bit faster, as body heat is transferred directly by the hand to the glass.
