This may be a dumb question, but do glass door refrigerators keep products as cool as solid door refrigerators?

Depending on location if for example if the cooler were right next to a pizza oven then no. However the best reason for having a glass door unit is that you can see in your box where the item that you are looking for is located. This has you going directly to a particular item and helps to keep from having your door open longer while searching and not losing valuable refrigeration

It is typically better to keep raw food in a solid stainless refrigerator and food that is already prepared in a glass door merchandiser. However, you should check each models specification sheet for optimal use and to get your machine tot he perfect temperature.

Many manufacturers will offer a larger HP condensor for glass door models to make up for the heat transferred in from sunlight and customers constantly opening the doors versus a stainless model that doesn't allow sunlight to pass through. Are you referring to the difference between merchandisers and refrigerators, or just refrigerators with steel door versus glass door?

A general rule of thumb is that it's better to keep prepared foods and display food items in glass door merchandisers, while keeping raw and kitchen food products in stainless steel door refrigerators.

If you are just referring to steel door versus glass door for a refrigerator, then it makes no real difference.
