Cold glue labeling systems are ideal for heat sensitive materials and safer to use due to the reduced risk of burns.

Hot melt systems can bond a larger array of materials such as plastics, acrylics, and certain metals. They typically have a higher level of bonding strength.

If you're not set on hot or cold, there are other methods available as well. Shrink sleeves are a great inexpensive option. Plastic sleeves are slipped over the container and heat applied from a blower. Very quick.
Pressure sensitive label stock on rolls coupled with an inexpensive label applicator is also a viable option for many, especially for smaller operations.

(We of course love it when people love the pressure sensitive label stock as our label applicator is designed for that!)
