Masticating juicers tend to be more expensive than centrifugal juicers, but they have a number of advantages over centrifugal juicers. Masticating juicers are more efficient at producing juice (leaving very dry pulp), they are more effective at incorporating leafy greens, and, because they produce less heat, they minimize oxidation and produce less foam (resulting in a smoother juice product). On the other hand, masticating juicer motors tend to run at a lower speed, which means that making juice may take longer than with a centrifugal juicer. Ultimately, your choice will be between price/speed (centrifugal) and quality/versatility (masticating).
