What’s the difference between seasoned and kiln-dried firewood?

For the most part, seasoned and kiln-dried firewood should be functionally similar.  However, seasoned firewood has a much shorter shelf life of only about 6 months from the date that it was cut down.  As seasoned wood takes about 5 months to dry out naturally, this means you only have about a month to use the wood.  On the other hand, kiln-dried wood has a shelf life of roughly 3 years, sometimes even longer.
