When applying a label to a bottle you must consider the shape of the label. Labels with round corners (die cut) adhere to the bottle much better than those with square corners.

Square corners can be prone to peeling, in certain situations.  Also, the cost of the label will be determined by the total area of material used to create, so if you can create something for aesthetics, costs, and durability you'll be covered in every way.

Additionally, containers that are tapered require labels that are tapered (or conical) in shape to match the taper of the container. This information (container shape and taper angle) will be important when working with your Graphic Design.

Label costs are driven primarily by size as well as material, quantity, and finish. You also need to be sure that the label does not extend to the tapered areas on the bottle or it will wrinkle and that it doesn't overlap on the back side of the container.

Correctly sizing your label will eliminate any potential application issues you may encounter down the road. The size of the container will also impact the label size, as well as the label material and the application method. You should consider all three factors when it comes to labeling.
